Table of Pomodoro Clock
What is Pomodoro Clock?
Francesco Cirillo, a university student at the time, invented the Pomodoro Technique in the late 1980s. Cirillo was having difficulty focusing on his studies and completing assignments. He asked himself, feeling overwhelmed, to commit to only 10 minutes of focused study time. Encouraged by the challenge, he discovered a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (pomodoro in Italian), and the Pomodoro technique was born.
Francesco Cirillo developed the Pomodoro Technique to increase productivity while working and studying. The method involves using a timer to divide work into periods, usually 25 minutes long, followed by brief pauses. The name "pomodoro" comes from the Italian word for "tomato" and refers to each interval. Cirillo used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer while he was an undergraduate.
